If you are looking for wedding flowers in Surrey and the surrounding areas then we would love to hear from you here at award winning The Edge of the Florist. We are one of the few companies who have earned a reputation by offering reliable floral decoration services to all our customers. We believe that “Weddings are like a symphony – all parts need to be balanced and play in harmony to produce the most wonderful magical day which you will remember forever.”

Beverly Vos practiced the art of floral design while she was pursuing a career in banqueting and hotel management. Each member of our team is professional, dedicated and ready to help you choose beautiful flowers for your wedding. We take into consideration the wedding venue, the formality of the event, the season, your attire and the budget before suggesting the ideal flower variety, colour and quantity.

All our customers can be assured that the flowers we suggest during the consultation will blend perfectly with the theme of your wedding and the level of formality. The flowers will set the right standard for your entire wedding event. We are aware of the fact that the bride is always the star of every wedding so we start with the Bridal Bouquet which leads naturally to the wedding party and event flowers.

If a customer is planning to have a black tie affair theme wedding in a ballroom, we would suggest choosing flowers such as lilies, orchids, roses and amaryllis. Those opting for traditional foliage could possibly choose something in white, green, silver, ivory or pale gold tones. Whether you are planning a country or beach wedding or a semi-formal wedding which may feel free and casual, you have many choices as far as the colour palette, wedding flowers and wedding breakfast space decorations are concerned. We understand the vision of your dream wedding and transform it into reality.

Please feel free to contact us on 01483277177, email us at or visit us directly at 3a Smithbrook Kilns, Cranleigh GU68JJ. We would be delighted to discuss your floral requirements for your wedding and look forward to hearing from you.

Bridal Bouquets

The Bride is undeniably the star of any wedding, so her flowers are also the focus of much attention.  The wedding dress is the key stylistic element so its design and colour will shape ideas for the bouquet.  White and ivory tones are still classic choices for the bouquet, pastels such as blush pink, apricot and cream are romantic and strong colours such as sultry red, rich purple and blue can be dramatic and spectacular.   The shape is important too, handtied bouquets are natural, stunning and perfect. The small posy bouquets are generally produced with small headed flowers such as lily of the valley, Stephanotis, Bouvardia. Teardrop bouquets are a more traditional styling, and bouquets of large flowers carried over the arm also have their place.

Bridemaids Bouquets & Flowers

The bridesmaids flowers should complement the bride’s but not outshine them.  They should follow the same colour scheme and some variation can be incorporated.  Adult bridesmaids can carry posies and younger girls smaller posies with streaming ribbons, small wicker flower baskets or pomander balls of flowers and ribbons and small wrist corsages.

The groom and his supporters would usually wear a buttonhole which compliments the colour scheme of the bride, her bridesmaids and the floral bouquets.  Additional colours in the form of thistles, herbs and leaves can be added to the buttonhole flower to reflect the colour of the grooms outfit.

Ceremony Flowers

If the wedding is to be held in a church then a floral garland or archway arrangements can be fixed over the entrance gate, door or porchway of the church.  Individual hanging arrangements on gateposts, lampposts or either side of the entrance can be used.

It is traditional to have floral arrangements inside the church or ceremony room, either on pedestals, the altar or ceremony table, hanging on pew ends or on the back of the bride and groom chairs.

Reception & Event Floral Arrangements

Wedding reception are entirely a matter of choice and budget.   There are many styles to choose from and a few options are shown here:

Ivy archways covered in fragrant flowers – these archways link the reception room to wedding breakfast room/marquee/orangery etc.. There can be just one or multiple archways.

Large trees  in pots lining the walkway to the reception room – the trees can be festooned with lights, flowers, lanterns…

Table centre arrangements can be tall and dramatically rise above the heads of the guests at the tables.  Low table centre arrangements can fill the centre of each table perhaps with candles intertwined with ivy, trailing flowers and foliage.  A combination of tall and low arrangements can be used on each table.
